Basel Comedians Albert Louw & Fairis Osman

Broadcast on:
9 April, 2024

Fairis Osman is a Malaysian living in Switzerland. Growing up, he was a shy person who was constantly laughed at. To alleviate this experience, he started doing stand-up comedy in 2019. Since then, he has been an ordinary IT compliance manager by day, keeping things on track with Swiss precision. But at night, he transforms into a comedy magician, making audiences around the world laugh with his jokes. With a stand-up style as diverse as his cultural background, Fairis weaves stories about technology, life in Switzerland and his Malaysian roots into a comedic tapestry as colorful as a box of Swiss chocolates. He has performed in Basel, Bern, Zurich, Lucerne and Malaysia in front of audiences ranging from five to 500.  In 2022, the comedian won the Comedy Basel Champion Award. Fairis lives near Basel with his wife, two children and two cats. He's trying to change the world, one joke at a time.

Albert Louw brings his mad world to the stage. Born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa, he is filled with unusual tales and an odd perspective on life. His performances, like his clothes, are psychedelic, and eccentric, from his weird wildlife tales, to his well-researched theory on the dawn of civilization, and everything in between.

From his base in Basel, he runs a variety of comedy shows with the ‘On The Run Comedy Club’. Albert headlines shows across Switzerland, and tours through Europe, from stages in Barcelona to Berlin. Over the last 5 years he has featured as an opening act for various acts like Bylgja Babýlons, Arthur Smith, Janine Harouni, Sid Singh, and Barry Hilton.
